SCARLET COMMUNITY MUSIC CLUB
Scarlet Community Music Club was formed in June 2004 to deliver music workshops to children in Lincolnshire. We are a not-for-profit organisation, funded by local and national arts funding and supported by Scarlet Music Services administration facilities. We deliver professional, progressive, creative music workshops, mainly in rural settings in South Lincolnshire, for children and young people, who would not normally be able to access this type of activity, due to limitations in opportunities, transport and money. We are completely open access and work in all genres and with all types of music.
Our projects are led by professional, experienced artists in education, who are equipped to deliver to an extremely high standard and to support each participant that we work with. We also work very hard within our projects to develop community cohesion and social connection, in our diverse local community, through music and the projects that we lead.
SCMC are working in collaboration with ‘The Fit Vegan Chick’ fitness expert Maddy Leather to deliver a series of workshops that combine playing music and exercise.
BEATSFIT is suitable for people of all ages and abilities or disabilities and no previous experience is needed. It’s easy, good for you - and great fun!!
We are working with community groups in the south of Lincolnshire, including mother and toddlers, COPD, dementia and mental health support and ladies fitness amongst others.
WE HAVE NOW FINISHED THIS PROJECT FOR THE YEAR - but please contact us if you would be interested to book a workshop for your community group next year

Following a very successful COMMUNITY CHORUS project in 2019 –‘THE ROARING 20’s’ – think ‘Ragtime, Charleston, Prohibition, Flapper girls, Art Deco’…and more!! The participants learned to play the Glockenspiel, and delivered a fantastic performance to family, friends and local residents!
The theme this year is: BEATSFIT – instrument playing combined with physical exercises – a fantastic, fun, musical experience that can be shared by all - with full social distancing.
Due to the COVID 19 situation, we wont be doing any singing this year, and we will be limiting (for the first time ever!) the amount of participants that can take part. There wont be a large performance this year, but we hope to find a way to share the progress made by the group, with their family and friends, in small, short performances – to keep to new Covid 19 rules and advice.
We are hoping to confirm details to start at St Margarets Hall, Quadring in November/December 2020 ASAP .
We shall let you now as soon as we have dates/details – so watch this space!
